Introduction
I am a licensed CPA in the state of Maryland. During my career as an accounting professional I worked for several non-profit organizations including continuing care retirement communities and membership organizations performing a broad range of duties and responsibilities. In the past 15 years I have worked in a controller-level capacity partnering with the senior executive team, presenting financial information to staff, executive officers and board of directors and participated in strategic planning. From September 2008 through September 2010 I worked for the American Society for Nutrition as a Controller to establish their finance department and bring their accounting in-house. During the years of 2001 through 2008 I worked for the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) where I provided professional accounting/controller services to many scientific societies. Previous to working for FASEB I worked for Asbury Services, Inc. from 1995 through 2001 as a Finance Manager where I managed and supervised an accounting staff of six and prepared financial statements, budgets, annual tax and other reports and coordinated year-end audits.
